Studying Madame CJ Walker is inspiring for any learner! Take the first steps with this engaging activity that includes events on a cootie catcher. Students can cut the cootie catcher out and read the events on it to learn about Madame CJ Walker’s life and then sequence those learned events onto a graphic organizer.

 

Using a graphic organizer to enhance reading comprehension is a great way to give readers a visual base to learn what they reading about and helps organize their thinking.
